Seriki Kazeem Omotola is a lecturer in the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History (B.A. History) and master’s degree in History (M.A. History) from the Department of History, University of Ibadan in 2011 and 2017 respectively. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at the Department of History, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is an experienced teacher of African History with a demonstrated capacity in the research industry. His research interest areas include Environmental History as well as Social and Economic History. As a 21st century teacher and researcher, his cardinal objective is to excel in the field of teaching and research through hard work, innovative pedagogical skills and perseverance. His teaching experience spans over eleven (11) years of teaching at the secondary and tertiary educational levels in Nigeria.
He is a co-author of nine (9) history books for schools in Nigeria published by one of the most reputable publishing firms in West Africa, Evans Publishers. He also has publications in journal articles and currently work on a number of unpublished papers. Some of these include: Modular History For Primary Schools (Book 1-6); Effective History for Secondary Schools (Book 1-3) published by Evans Brothers Limited; Theories of Regional Economic Integration and the Applicability Questions in West Africa, The IUP Journal of International Relations, Vol. XIV, No. 3, July, 2020, pp. 37-47 (Available at https://ssrn.com/abstract=3810657) among others.
He is a resource person to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board for History Syllabus Review Exercise in Nigeria. This national role, availed him the opportunity to work with other prominent Nigerian historians in re-developing and reviewing the UTME History syllabus for post-secondary education in the country
