Brief about me

Dr. Modupe Aduke Aboyade was employed into the service of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso on the 1st of May, 2019 as the University Librarian. She is the first female University Librarian and the first female member of the LAUTECH Management Committee. As a Veteran Librarian of over 30 years, with experience in all aspects of Library, Archival and Information Science, though new in the university system, she is still able to coordinate, control and administer the Olusegun Oke Library and its several branches within and outside the main campus.

She holds a Diploma Certificate in Library Science and a Bachelor Degree in Library Studies from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Equally, she holds a Master Degree in Library, Archival and Information Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in School Media Resource Studies from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

Her contribution to knowledge and academic turn-around is superb. She has been able to contribute her quota to the university’s development through high profile academic lecture series, webinars, staff trainings and active participation in accreditation of courses in the university. Dr. Modupe Aboyade has been able to ginger and improve on the provision of unfettered access to relevant and timely information for both the staff and students of the university through her declaration of love for information provision and dissemination.

As an astute administrator, she is unwavering both in the low and high times, as she is always ready to deliver before deadlines. Her tenure as the University Librarian has really placed the Olusegun Oke Library in the front row in the comity of academic libraries. This was reflected in her desire to have a Library and Information Science Department which has materialized with the help of others in the university.

Dr. Modupe Aduke Aboyade is academically sound, morally upright, highly calculated, just and emotional stable. Her membership of professional bodies includes but not limited to the following: -   

Fellow:    Institute of Policy Development and Management.  Financial and active member of the Association of Women Librarians in Nigeria (AWLIN), Association of University Librarians in Nigeria Universities (AULNU), and the Nigerian Library Association both at the state and national levels.  She is the immediate NLA Chairperson, Osun State Chapter.

Her previous work experience: Library Attendant- Kashim Ibrahim Library, ABU, Zaria. Library Officer-Government Day Secondary School, Jaji, National Youth Service- International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Ibadan, Theological Librarian and Head of Library-Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan and Medical Librarian- LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo. Chief Lecturer- Federal Polytechnic Ede.

She has 40 publications to her credit including 5.Textbooks on Library and Information Science. She is widely travelled to countries like Ghana, Togo, Saudi Arabia, London, Ethiopia and Togo. As a born Librarian, who is highly interested in the knowledge management world, she started her career as a Library Attendant and by chance, she has gotten to the Zenith of the Library Archival and Information Profession – the University Librarian; here at LAUTECH.

Her garnered experience in the field of library science has helped her tremendously. Within the shortest time of her appointment, Dr. M. A. Aboyade has demonstrated her administrative prowess and acumen. This is in a bid to achieve the aims and objectives of the parent institution – Academic excellence and integrity which is what she professes
