Brief about me

I am a Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Community Medicine. I hold an advanced training and research fellowship in International Health from the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, Boston, Massachusetts. During the two-year fellowship period, using a national dataset, I completed two different research projects considered of major importance to public health situation in Nigeria. I hold a PhD degree in Biostatistics from the Keele University, United Kingdom. The research degree was fully funded by the Research grant award of the Keele University.

I teach modules in Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Methodology including Randomized Controlled Trials at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I regularly supervise students at both levels. As a Senior Biostatistician, I often offer consultative services to both students and biomedical workers regarding study design and statistical analysis. Earlier, I served as member of the University postgraduate school board as well as coordinated the postgradute training programmes in Public Health for five years. On invitation, I participated in the online International survey (Delphi survey) to help updating the SPIRIT 2013 and CONSORT 2010 Statements, with Oxford University as the coordinating institution. SPIRIT and CONSORT promote high-quality reporting of randomized controlled trial RCT protocols and results, respectively.

I have successfully collaborated in several multidisciplinary public health studies where I  led on the design, data collection, analysis and reporting. One of such studies is the Osun statewide TETFund funded health survey on the health status and its determinants among the elderly (60 years and above). I’ve reviewed articles for leading public health journals including the BMC Public Health and PlosOne. I serve as a member of the editorial team of clinical trials specific journals based in the United states and Canada as well as being a guest editor to Frontier in Reproductive Health journal.
