Brief about me

Most of my research activities focus on information resources utilization, users’ information literacy skills for information retrieval and dissemination; and application of information and communication technology (ICT) in the academic libraries. Hence, research efforts were imperative because the existence of electronic library (E-Library) services since the beginning of the 20th Century has rendered manual-based library services in academic less relevant. This little effort of mine has contributed significantly to positive changes in library services in Nigeria. It is on this note, that searching for information resources by the users requires information literacy skills to effectively access information in the library through application of (ICT). In addition, few studies were conducted to fill the identified gaps (that is, there are still untapped benefits embedded in the information resources utilization).  Sequel to this, I have published widely in both Nigerian and international journals. I have also considered other areas such as information literacy skills to enhance effective access and utilization of information resources in academic libraries.

Research Achievement

Over the years, my research activities have been on library resources services. I have been able to develop a special focus on health information resources utilization. I have researched on undergraduates & postgraduates, civil servants and health workers on their accessibility to information. The motivation for my research activities is derived from the need for users’ orientation in order to encourage or motivate patrons and maximally enhance the quality services rendered by the library.

Also, the inspiration for my research activities is derived from the need to satisfy users’ that are thirsty for relevant information research in order to satisfy their needs. I have been able to contribute to the body of knowledge of Academic through establishing the need to pay urgent attention to library automation and digitalization to support library services delivery to users. This is to assist the librarian to capture, store, update, map, manage, manipulate, analyze, model and display spatially referenced data/information to aid decision making process in solving complex library planning and management problems.

Furthermore, to my credit, I have twenty three (23) publications out of which twenty one (21) are published journal articles, two (2) chapters in book and two (2) technical reports on LAUTECH Medical library.
