Brief about me

Olatunde OlubanjoFawoleis one of the pioneer staff of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria and a Professor of Fisheries and Aquatic Biology in the Department of Pure and Applied Biology. He had first degree in Zoology, University of Lagos in 1983, Master’s in Fisheries and Aquatic Biology at the University of Ibadan in 1985, Ph. D. in Zoology (Environmental Biology/Fisheries), Obafemi Awolowo University in 1997, and Master’s in Business Administration, Obafemi Awolowo Obafemi Obafemi Awolowo University in 1998.

Prof. Fawole carved a niche for himself in the area of Fisheries and Aquatic Biology where he had supervised and mentored several undergraduates, over 14 masters’ students and 4 completed Ph. D. while some are ongoing. He has over 75 publications to his credits in peer review journals both at national and international levels.

He has served in various capacities within the University which includes acting Head, Department of Pure and Applied Biology 2001 to 2002, Director/Chairman Pre-DegreeProgramme, LAUTECH (2002 to 2005), two terms Dean of Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences (2008 to 2012), and Chairman, Committee of Provost and Deans, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso (2010 to 2012). He also Served twice as a member, University Governing Council represented Congregation (2002 to 2006) and Senate (2014 to 2018). He has served as Chairman of several strategic committee in LAUTECH. Currently, he is the ActingDean, Faculty of Management Sciences, LAUTECH (August 1, 2021 - till Date).

Outside LAUTECH, Prof Fawole served in various administrative posts:Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, WUSTO, (2013 to 2014), Head, Department of Computer Science Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko, Ondo State.(2006 –2008), Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo (2012 – 2014). He was the Rector, The Polytechnic, Ibadan (2014 – 2019) among others.
