Brief about me

Musibau O. Jelili is a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning and Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He holds a B.Tech (Hons), M.Tech and PhD in Urban and Regional Planning. He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (MNITP/1936) and registered with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (RTP/1579). Professor M.O. Jelili is a vibrant, internationally recognized scholar and researcher in Land Use and Sustainable Development Planning, with emphasis on Informal Urbanism and Inclusive Planning. He has about two decades of teaching and research experience at the university level, and over sixty publications, including journal articles, books, chapters-in-books, monographs, conference proceedings and public lectures in reputable outlets. The 53rd Inaugural Lecture Series of LAUTECH, which he presented on the 18th of May, 2023, was one of the rare attempts at exploring informal urbanism and inclusive cities in Nigeria. He has successfully supervised hundreds of B.Tech, tens of Master dissertations and two PhD thesis. His teaching career and research erudition have taken him to many universities and polytechnics in Nigeria, Africa and beyond (as Visiting Lecturer, Resource Person, Lead Paper Presenter or External Examiner/Moderator), including University of Ilorin, Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, University of Johannesburg, South Africa, University of South Florida, USA, among other universities and polytechnics. He has won many awards of excellence, including research grants on different occasions and short grants to partake in both national and international conferences and workshops.
