Brief about me

I am a Professor of Chemical Engineering and for close to thirty years, I have been studying different separation processes; distillation, extraction, drying and adsorption. My research goal is to channel the practical application of my research results to improve lives and environment e.g. production of indigenous adsorbents from waste materials on a large scale (turning waste to wealth).Teaching, research and mentoring are the major components of my academic career. I have produced five M.Tech and four Ph.d graduates. I have been in several positions of leadership over the years. I was the acting Head of Chemical Engineering Department, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso between 2004 and 2007. During this period, I started the departmental postgraduate (Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctoral) programmes. I have been a member of several committees put in place to ensure academic integrity and excellence e.g. Gender Mainstreaming Committee, International Conference Planning Committee, and University Research Committee. I have been an active member of Nigerian Association of Women in Academics (NAWACS) LAUTECH branch and I am presently the president of my branch. I was the pioneering Chairman of Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN) Ogbomoso Chapter from 2019-2021. In both associations, we often organize seminars, talks and workshop for female students to provide encouragement and mentorship. We also have counselling sessions where we attend to pertinent challenges facing the females on campus. I am active in community services and have served as Vice Chairperson of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), LAUTECH branch between 2000 and 2002.
