Brief about me

Prof. Muibat Olabisi Bello had a B.Sc (Edu.) Chemistry degree from Adeyemi College of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1991, a M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry University of Ibadan in 1995, a PhD Industrial Chemistry from LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, in 2007 and a Certificate in Monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of food and nutrition security programmes from Wageningen UR, The Netherlands in 2015.She joined the service of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso in 1999 where she rose through the rank to become a Professor of Industrial Chemistry in 2014. She has served in different capacity in the University as head and member of different committees. Also as Director of Guest house and Catering services, and Chairperson Governing Board of University Staff Schools. She has supervised over hundred and fifty undergraduate and postgraduate student projects.

She was a Visiting Scientist of United Nations University, Institute for Natural Resources, Accra (UNU-INRA) in 2013 where she developed a policy brief which formed part of policies on under exploited and neglected plant species in many African countries. Also, a visiting Professor at Al Hikmah University, Ilorin, an external examiner at Chemistry Department, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She researched on value addition to many underexploited plant parts with high potentials in solving the problems of macro and micro nutrient deficiencies. Her research also focused on the endangered species as sources of raw materials for the agro-based industries in the country. Her research has demonstrated the nutraceutical values of some medicinal plants and has published more than forty articles and presented many papers in both national and international journals and conferences respectively. She is a Fellow of Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN, 2020) and Fellow of Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria and American Chemical Society (FICCON 2021).
