I have over thirty (30) years of experience as a Lecturer, Researcher, and Consultant. I am a Certified Geoscientist, the founding Head of Department of Earth Sciences at LAUTECH, the School’s first Professor of Geosciences (Applied Geophysics), and a Berkner Travel Grant Fellow of the American Geophysical Union. My professional activities and community service as a Consultant Geoscientist in Environment, Energy, and Subsurface require me to interact with the Town. This has had an impact on my research outputs and helped to close the gap between town and gown with the delivery of several infrastructural and environmental projects that have made resounding and outstanding contributions to humanity, growth, and national development. These include, but are not limited to: Eko Atlantic City Project (Monitoring); World Bank (WB) assisted Federal Republic of Nigeria Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project (SMMRP); WB-assisted Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (LMDGP); WB-assisted Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP); Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Red/Blue line Project with its Quality Bus Corridors (QBCs); WB-assisted Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP); Five Cowries Creek and Cowries Shore Island Development Project; Kaduna State Bus Rapid Transit (BRT); Escravos Breakwater Rehabilitation; Lekki Free Trade Zone Safeguard Instruments; Osun State Environmental Degradation and Remediation of Selected Mine Sites, etc. My research has produced some significant findings, including Pressure Regression and tilted oil-water contacts concepts for enhanced oil recovery in Niger Delta during my Postdoctoral Research as Senior Research Fellow at SHELL Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited; equilibrium suction for determining volume change of unsaturated soils in pavement and slope stability assessments; leachates dispersion concept and framework with leachates dispersion rates – Longitudinal and Traverse – determinedthus allowing for a number of things, including: real-time monitoring of both leachates and leachates plume emanating from landfills with or without liners prior infiltration into subsurface aquifers and prevent formation of larger plume, investigation of the integrity and performance of landfill as designed, early detection of malfunctioned, expired or perforated landfill linings, and hydrogeological risk assessments for landfills. I belong to a number of professional associations in Nigeria, Africa, Europe and America. I am currently the Vice President of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) Local Chapter Nigeria, on the Editorial Board (Advisor) of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) Bulletin & Business Bulletin, and Peer Reviewer for sizeable Elsevier and Springer journals.
