Brief about me

Prof. Somuyiwa holds a Master of Science degree in Transport Studies and a Ph.D in Transport Planning and Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Nigeria. His quest to broaden his horizon in Transport and Logistics as well as for International exposure made him, through Netherlands Government fellowship, to enroll for a Postgraduate Diploma in Port, Shipping and Transport Management at the prestigious Shipping and Transport College, Now Netherlands Maritime University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He is a Chartered Fellow of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Shipping, Nigeria, Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria, World Conference Transport Research Society and other related Professional bodies. He was the pioneer acting and substantive Head of Transport Management, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, where he joined the service in 2002 and rose to the position of Professor of Logistics and Transport Management in 2016, arguably the first in the Southwestern region of Nigeria. He was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management sciences, LAUTECH 2016/17 and 2017/18 Sessions. He has over Eighty (80) research publications that are mainly on Transport, Logistics/Supply Chain Management in books, conference proceedings and Research articles that are in learned International and National Journals. He is an external examiner in Logistics and Transport Management to both Private and Public Universities within and outside the country. His Professional and academic studies visit have taken him to most European, North America, Asia, and Australia as well as Middle East countries. Prof. Somuyiwa was the Former Chairman of CILT, Nigeria, Ibadan Branch and once headed Professional and Development Committee (PDC) of CILT, Nigeria and Education Champion representing CILT, Nigeria at the International Education Standards Committee. He is happily married to a Professional Urban Planner with lovely Children.
