Brief about me

Dr. Adewusi John Adepoju, a seasoned academic and member of Chemical Society of Nigeria, lectures at the Organic Chemistry Unit of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso and currently serves as the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs of the institution. He graduated from LAUTECH with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Pure and Applied Chemistry in 2003; Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Organic Chemistry in 2012 and Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D) Organic/Natural Products in 2021. His B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D focused on “Extraction and Characterization of Akee Oil”, “Isolation and Characterization of Bioactive Compounds of Stem Bark Extracts of NaucleaPobeguinii” and “Isolation and Characterization of Some Chemical Constituents of Leaves and Stem Bark Extracts of NaucleaPobeguinii” respectively. DrAdepoju was first appointed as Graduate Assistant at the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso in 2009 and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 2012; Lecturer II in 2015; Lecturer I in 2018. He was a beneficiary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) Academic Staff Training and Development (ASTD) between 2019 and 2020 at University Sains Malaysia (USM) in Malaysia. Dr. Adepoju, an astute academic of high repute, has supervised over 70 undergraduate projects in his Department and served on a number of departmental and faculty boards. He has authored and co-authored many local and international scholarly articles, books and monographs. He has also attended conferences/workshops. He is a purpose-driven and result-oriented scholar with a great zeal to enhancing teaching, learning and academic advancement.
