My research work has largely focused on scholarly information communication; impact of ICT on cataloguing and classification of library materials (information organization); social media and digital libraries which lead to three (3) chapters contributions in IGI Global Publishing publications (consequently I was appointed as a reviewer for IGI Global Publishing); and library and information support services for open and distance learners. The motivation for these works was derived from the need for policy orientation towards acceptance of social media services as a means of dispensing library and information services to users, most especially non-conventional users such as open and distance learners.
Also, my PhD research focuses on evaluation of library and information support services for distance learners of National Open University, Nigeria (NOUN). Consequently, I had made presentations in three (3) international conferences on framework for sustainable digital preservation; role of library in promoting distance and lifelong learning (available at: https://www.up.ac.za/information-science/article/2828615/carnegie-capstone-conference-2019) and E-learning acceptance. As a fallout of one of the conferences (Carnegie Capstone Conference at University of Pretoria, South Africa), I was appointed an external examiner for the Master’s Programme of the East African School of Library and Information Science (EASLIS), College of Computing and Information Sciences, Makerere University, Uganda. I had also moderated a number of virtual conferences and webinars within and outside the university and presently serving as Webinar Coordinator and Head, Learners’ Support Services at LAUTECH Open and Distance Learning Centre.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow, Dept of Information Science, College of Human Sciences, UNISA, South Africa.
